Whether you’re the president of the United States getting Kendrick Lamar and Janelle Monae to sing your daughter “Happy Birthday” or one of the greatest Olympians of all time winning yet another gold medal, it’s increasingly clear how impossible it is to stimulate your kids think you’re cool this summer.
Michael Phelps won his 19th gold medal on Sunday, competing with the United States team in the 4×100-meter freestyle relay. At 31 years old, the swimmer extended his total Olympic medal count over the last five summer games to 23.
But this was not a accomplishment that his newborn son, Boomer Phelps, cared too much about.
As the elder Phelps shared on Instagram earlier today, when he looked into the stands with his new gold medal, Boomer had fallen “sound asleep.”
Here’s Phelps’ fiancee, Nichole Johnson, waving while Boomer sleeps during the ceremony.
